Our all volunteer club operates: 2 Sporting Clay Trails, 5 Stand, 4 Trap Fields and 2 Skeet Fields. The best news is that we are a PUBLIC VENUE and because our member’s give back to the club we are able to keep our prices affordable. Purgatory Clay Sports has a commitment to provide the safest shotgunning experience and have fun doing it. Our shooters have all different skills level in shooting but they are united in the effort to make Purgatory Clay Sports “A Diamond in the Desert”

Our rifle/pistol target range has 24 shooting stations with ranges to 200 yards. Open Wed, Fri, and Saturday (see website for seasonal hours) with Range Safety Officer supervision ensuring your safety and enjoyment. We also offer targets and a family friendly encouraging environment.
If you need to sight in your deer rifle, test a new shotgun, verify a new handload, test your accuracy with bench rest shooting, have a family outing shooting a variety of guns, then our venue is just what you need.

Tuesday Night Steel – Every Tue evening. A fun match competing on steel targets, .22 rifle/pistol and 3 magazines all that are needed.
New Competitor Classes – Most Fridays, and always 1st and 3rd Fridays. Helpful before first match.
Practical Pistol Matches – 1st and 3rd Saturdays.
Defense Wednesdays – 3 Defensive Drills / Tips each Wed evening with instructor Brett Pruit.
Ladies and Guns – Just the ladies, Melody Farwell works on basic firearms safety, use and shooting. 4th Tue of each month.
Concealed Carry Certification Class – 1st Saturday of the month. Includes 4 hour BCI class & 2 hours CCW training live fire!

Practical Shooting mixes target shooting with rapid firing, movement, and obstacle laden courses to add stress and “practical value” to shooting. Stages of fire range from a few rounds to 40+, and can involve hundreds of yards of movement, and shooting under, over, around, and through real-world obstacles such as walls and cars.
Guns used range from .22 pistols/rifles in our Tue Night Steel matches, to service weapons, carbines and shotguns. Practical Shooting is excellent for law enforcement, military, self-defense, and concealed carry training. Matches can use pistols, carbines, tactical rifles, and shotguns – sometimes all four!
Our Practical Shooting facility is among the best in the world. It has 24 bays and hosts some of the largest matches in the country.
We run matches every Tue evening, and on 1st and 3rd Saturday’s. We also hold New Competitor classes and Practices each Friday. We also welcome top local and national instructors regularly to offer classes in practical shooting and defensive firearms use.

Cowboy Action Shooting

Travel back to the days of gunfighters in the Wild Wild West – where your life depended on your skill with your six guns, Winchester lever action, and a double barreled shotgun. Cowboy Action Shooting lets you experience the traditions and lore of the Old West.
Our “Cowtown” is among the best in the west, with 14 bays setup with Old West themes of banks, railroad stations, bath houses, brothels, telegraph offices, and, of course, an old west jail. In Cowboy Action Shooting you use western guns, like Colts, and Winchesters, and double barreled and pump shotguns to shoot courses of fire as accurately as you can and as fast as you can. You also dress up like the old west, and have an old west name (alias).
We shoot on the 2nd and 4th Saturday’s of each month – and WE WOULD LOVE for you to join us. All are welcome to watch, and if you want to shoot, we have Greenhorn posses scheduled regularly where we will loan you all the gear you need.

Hone your hunting skills, or just have a nice relaxing social time. Our range provides for both.
We have 7 target “sight-in” range with targets starting at 20 yards and targets every 10 yards with the farthest being 80 yards. We also have a 14 target NFAA (3D) walk through field course with varying terrain. Our range is open to the public every 2nd and 4th Saturday. Or join our club and once certified safe you can use the range any time.
Our goal is to provide archery education and opportunity for the bowmen of Washington County and Southern Utah regardless of age, skill level, style of shooting, etc… Regardless of expertise, as bowmen we are all one in purpose. We extend this invitation to all archers!
